A COVID-19 antigen test detects coronavirus proteins in the mouth and throat. A swab of the client’s nose and throat (sample can also be saliva or blood) is taken. The COVID-19 antigen analysis evaluates whether there are indications of infection. The test checks for specific proteins on the outside surface of the virus called antigens in a test sample taken from the client. The presence of these antigens is a sign of an active infection.
- Results are typically available within 15 to 30 minutes of the sample being analyzed.
- Negative result certificates issued for travel.
